Lately, I have been reading a lot. Why, you ask? Well, I am enrolled in the R.E.A.D. program. The program helps young readers improve their literacy skills. Today we had a practice run at a library to show me the ropes and my office. Although now I come to think of it I didn’t see any ropes, just rows, and rows of books. And people sitting at long tables. They were reading quietly until I showed up, then all heads turned my way and people started to talk about my brindle stripes and such. I guess I was a bit of a distraction. Maybe that’s why I will have my own office. Gotta go, I haven’t finished my book yet and I want to know how it ends.

You’re gonna be quite the pawsome ambassador of reading if ever there was one!

Oh, that’s sad. An e-book library that’s an eggselent idea. You’re very resourceful. Benji

Benji, you are pawsome! It was suggested that Lucy become a reading dog, but she wouldn’t be able to pass the prerequisite good citizenship test (yet). Guess she has to study some more.

With your blue vest and surrounded by so much literature, you look like a young university student …

WOL, I am constantly studying. Luckily on Tuesday I had a whole day of play at the doggie day care center. Today we have an outing with my CCI buddies and they will come to my house to play. On Sunday I can go to agility training. Play and work should always be carefully balanced. Benji

It’s true, sometimes at work you find good friends … to play with them;
With my previous dog, Yako, we repeated the same training course five years in a row … Yako told me it was a good place to socialize and make friends!!

I see more service dogs turn up in more places now. What a wonderful development!

It is. Benji is a therapy dog which is different from a service dog. A service dog is dedicated to one person and assists this person with his/ her disability while a therapy dog is trained to provide comfort and affection to people in nursing homes, therapy settings, etc. A service dog has more rights and there are complaints that people buy fake IDs so that they can take their dog to places they normally couldn’t.

I often wish that the rules of where dogs can go would relax…and then some bonehead ruins everything with their unruly, even dangerous, dog.

I know, it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the whole batch. Happy Sunny Day from the ZAB team.

All is well, thanks! We haven’t caught up yet with the WP world. It has been busy on our end. The end of the year always seems to go faster and faster. The ZAB team.
